WHY I JOINED OurNanaimo: I consider Nanaimo my home since I moved here in Grade 5. I love the area and the people who live here. I became involved in local politics through social media and after seeing the dysfunction with the current council. I became the spokesperson for NOVOTE2017 for the recent referendum. Through my work with Rotary and the United Way I see that our city needs a strong social services sector as part and parcel of a strong economic sector to build a strong community. I’m passionate about finding more ways for the public to have a say in the governance of building our city and community.
